What did I do?

I attended the LGBT Leaders event in London

When did this take place?

The visit was on the 13th of October

What have I gained from this activity?

This was mainly aimed at a younger audience than me but there were some fun, informative industry sessions which turned up a few valuable points. I attended panels on Entrepreneurship, Tech Industry, PR/Media industry, attended the job fair for the sponsor companies and a Q&A regarding application strategies. Some good points were brought up and I feel it has made me think a little differently in terms of what sets people apart when applying.

What did I do?

I attended the Grit Training day organised by Nottingham Trent University.

When did this take place?

I attended on the 28th of November

What have I gained from this activity?

This was a really good event. A lot of what was covered was personal development work I’ve done myself over the last couple of years but there is a 3 day event coming up and I feel like that would be deeper and more of use to me, so I’m going to try and find time to attend.

I attended the Diwali lunch provided by the Global Lounge

When did this take place?

I attended on the 6th of November

What have I gained from this activity?

I attended the Diwali celebration lunch with my Indian housemate and his friends who had cooked some of the food. It was good to socialise a little more with them, the food was fantastic and I now actually understand what Diwali is all about.
